Meier Lake Event Center is owned by Alaskans. Meier Lake is a event center specializing in weddings, corporate retreats and conferences, but that isn’t all that goes on at this newly remodeled facility! Birthday parties, yoga classes, boy scout retreats... Meier Lake facilitates all this and more.
If you grew up in the Mat Su, chances are you have been to, heard of or even swam in Meier Lake! For over 30 years Meier Lake has been operated by the Episcopal Arch Diocese, changing hands to the new owners threes years ago. Since then the facility has been under remodel, making it more of an event center, expanding opportunities for local people to explore the Alaskan getaway. While there, you can go for a hike, enjoy the new bathhouses, paddle on the lake and decompress from the workday world. It’s the perfect reminder of what it means to live in Alaska.
Future plans include a disc golf course along Meier Lake’s maintained hiking trail. In addition to remodeling existing cabins, the company plans to build more cabins around the perimeter of the lake, expanding the foot print of this nature resort. No motors are allowed on the lake, except for the lifeguard. There’s no fishing at the lake yet, but management did introduce some lake trout with hopes they will survive the winter and propagate - adding another pastime activity for guests.
